Bondora launches Netherlands business
Bondora has launched in the Netherlands, raising more than €200,000 (£175,525) in loans for Dutch borrowers within its first week.
The European peer-to-peer lending platform had previously hinted at an EU-wide expansion, and has been hiring country managers in anticipation of this growth.
A Bondora spokesperson said that the lender will be entering into more new markets soon.
The Netherlands business officially launched on 23 September 2022, with the first loan issued soon after.
“We are happy to announce that borrowers in the Netherlands can now access our online and convenient financial services,” a platform spokesperson said.
“By expanding to more countries, we can help empower more people to live the lives they want with less financial stress.

“In just one week from the launch, we successfully issued over €200,000 in loans in the Dutch market. To have achieved this amount in such a short term proves how easy-to-use loan services are needed in the Netherlands. It is also a promising indication of how this market will grow in the coming months.”
Bondora added that by launching new loan markets, it can expand its offering to existing and new customers across Europe.
“The Netherlands is the first new market Bondora has launched in our ambitious growth plan,” the platform added. “Stay tuned for more loan markets launching soon.”
