Giles Andrews to bring “invaluable” fintech expertise to C. Hoare & Co.
Zopa co-founder Giles Andrews (pictured) has been officially announced as a non-executive director of C. Hoare & Co.
The private bank noted Andrews’ “extensive experience in financial technology, lending and investment” in an announcement today (11 August).
“Giles is a great addition to the board,” said C. Hoare & Co.’s chairman Lord Macpherson. “His experience as an entrepreneur and in fintech and banking will be invaluable.”
Andrews helped launch Zopa, the world’s first peer-to-peer lender, in 2005. He served as chief executive from 2007 to 2015 and as chairman from 2015 to 2019. He remains on the board of Zopa, which has pivoted away from P2P lending to become a digital bank.
Andrews received an OBE in 2015 for services to financial services and was included in the top 10 of Peer2Peer Finance News’ Power 50 for a number of years.
