FCA names industry veterans to secondary markets advisory committee
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced the appointment of new members for its secondary markets advisory committee.
The members have been appointed for a period of two years until 1 June 2024. They include BlackRock’s Europe, Middle East and Africa head of electronic trading and market structure Daniel Mayston, and head of public affairs and policy for Europe and the UK at Credit Suisse Elisa Menardo.
The committee, which has been newly established, will be chaired by Edwin Schooling Latter, director of markets and wholesale policy at the FCA.

The committee, made up of 20 members, is tasked with supporting the regulator’s wholesale secondary markets work across different asset classes. It is responsible for identifying market changes that may impact the proper functioning of the secondary markets; developing reforms to improve competition, consumer protection and the integrity of markets; as well as providing data and analysis to support reforms.
The committee will aim to meet quarterly but can also meet more regularly if necessary.
