Seedrs officially launches in the Netherlands
Crowdfunding platform Seedrs has launched in the Netherlands.
According to a blog post by the company on LinkedIn, its Netherlands business is now open and accepting applications from would-be fundraisers.
“It’s official,” read a LinkedIn post from the Seedrs account.
“We’re excited to help more founders and entrepreneurs around the globe realise their big ambitions.”
The Netherlands business has its own website where it describes itself as “the platform of choice for crowdfunding in Europe.”
To date, more than €140m (£119m) has been invested in European companies via the platform, from investors based in 74 different countries.

Companies in the Netherlands can now register to raise funds up to the value of €8m.
Seedrs noted that a number of Dutch companies have already raised funds with Seedrs. These include fintech Bux and crowdfunding platform Lendahand, which raises funds to support sustainable energy projects in Africa.
A number of peer-to-peer lending and crowdfunding platforms have used Seedrs to raise funds in the past. Most recently, EstateGuru launched a €3m fundraising round on the platform to help fund its expansion.
Last year, Seedrs was acquired US investment group Republic, in a $100m (£75m) deal which will create the first global private investment marketplace with offerings across North America and Europe. The Netherlands business is the first new launch since that deal took place.
