Bondora continued its upward trajectory into April with a 7.2 per cent increase in origination volumes to almost €15.7m (£13.4m) – the highest monthly figure in 2022 so far.
The European peer-to-peer lending platform said €627,897 of those originations came from Spain, a 26.6 per cent month-on-month increase.
The second largest increase came from Estonia (a 10.4 per cent rise), with almost €5.7m originated.

Bondora also revealed that 2,694 new investors joined in April, meaning that the platform will have more than 200,000 investors next month if sign-ups continue at the same rate.
However, secondary market activity transactions declined by 9.5 per cent in April, while cash recoveries fell by 35.8 per cent compared to a spike in March.
A total of €802,718 in cash was recovered, with the majority being collected from Estonia (€378,392).
“The first quarter ended on a high note and the second quarter continued on this impressive trend,” Bondora said. “The jump in originations and investments are a welcome sight.”
Bondora also reported strong growth in its Go & Grow product, its simplest and most liquid offering that targets returns of up to 6.75 per cent.
The platform launched an app for its Go & Grow account last month and said that more than 139,000 investors now use the product.
Last year, Bondora increased the limit on its Go & Grow account to €1,000 (£854) per month, in response to investor demand.
