Zopa Bank to sponsor work visas for Ukrainians
Zopa Bank is calling on the fintech community to provide employment for Ukrainians in the UK and to help those fleeing the Russian invasion.
The former peer-to-peer lender-turned bank said it has been alarmed by the unfolding crisis in Ukraine following the invasion by Russian last week.
Home secretary Priti Patel has issued visa concessions to make it easier for Ukrainians to come to the UK on work, study or visit visas.
Zopa Bank has responded by announcing that it will support up to 50 work visas for eligible Ukrainian applicants already in the UK with backgrounds in engineering, technology, and data analytics or with experience in consumer financial services.

Additionally, the lender said it will fast track the assessment and selection of Ukrainians wanting to join their British national family members in the UK, giving successful candidates certainty of a role with Zopa and the ability to onboard remotely from secure locations.
It will also provide a relocation allowance of one month’s salary to support the moving costs on receipt of right to work in the UK.
“We are working with the Ukrainian Embassy in London and Ambassador Vadym Prystaiko to facilitate the process and encourage fellow members of our tech and fintech communities to extend their support,” Zopa Bank said in a statement.
Eligible Ukrainian applicants can email [email protected] to find out more or visit www.zopa.com/about/careers to apply for a fast-tracked role, highlighting their current situation in the online application form.
