Bondora approaches 200,000 P2P investors
Record numbers of new investors joined Bondora last month.
The European peer-to-peer lender, which lets investors back loans in Finland, Estonia and Spain, said 4,714 investors signed up to the platform during January – higher than any number of new investors during 2021.
That takes the number of investors on Bondora to more than 190,000.
Bondora said loan originations in January fell 14.7 per cent compared with December to €14.2m but were still more than double the amount lent at the start of 2021.
Finnish loans make up the largest share of originations, Bondora said in a blog post, and their share rose from 56.2 per cent to 70.3 per cent of the loan portfolio.
Estonian loans now make up 28.3 per cent and Spanish loans 1.4 per cent.
