October plans 2022 hiring spree after record year
European peer-to-peer lender October is planning to hire 54 new staff members this year as it sets out ambitious plans for 2022.
The P2P business lender, which operates in France, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands, said it plans to raise new funds, attract new talent and improve its product range this year.
It comes as the platform revealed a record year for lending in 2021.

The platform said in a blog on its website that more projects were financed last year than the previous three years combined
In 2021, 886 projects were financed by around 29,000 active lenders for a total amount of €186m (£155m).
The lender said it attracted 5,200 new active lenders,, who lent at least to one project, last year.
This was driven mainly by France and the Netherlands.
Analysis of its data showed a home bias, with investors tending to back projects from the country they live in.

“In 2022, we’ll recharge our batteries! October has the intention to raise new funds, recruit new talents to innovate and constantly improve our product, 54 positions we will be opening in Europe over the next 12 months,” October said.
“We will continue with our mission: finance businesses better.”
