ThinCats hires RBS vet as new relationship director
Alternative lender ThinCats has appointed an RBS veteran to lead its borrower relationship team.
Steve Ford (pictured) has been named as relationship director at the company, with a remit to strengthen relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
Ford spent 23 years in the corporate banking world at RBS, including 14 years in relationship management. Over the past six years, he acted as corporate banking director at the banking group, leading teams across the North-West.

“I have worked with Steve in the past, and I know that his strengths lie firmly in relationship management,” said Mike Hackett, head of sales at ThinCats.
“He is an incredibly experienced addition to the team and will enable us to continue to develop the support package that we offer to our borrowers. We are very excited to have Steve on board.”
Ford also has strong risk management skills which he developed in the small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) marketplace. He said that these skills would be particularly useful as the UK business community bounces back after the pandemic.

“I recognise as the country trades out of the pandemic, the SME landscape is so important to the UK economy,” said Ford.
“From a distance I have seen the positive impact that ThinCats is having in supporting mid-sized businesses, taking a pragmatic approach to truly understanding management teams, and helping assist their growth aspirations.
“I see this role as an important opportunity to continue the ThinCats evolution, proving a sound platform for relationship management.”
