Funding Circle US warns of email scam
Funding Circle’s US platform has issued a warning about scam emails falsely claiming to be from an employee.
The lender said the emails have been sent to customers asking for copies of their tax returns and driving licence.
Users are being asked to check with Funding Circle directly before responding to a loan-related email.

“Funding Circle is posting this message to alert you to a current email scam that was recently brought to our attention, in which fraudulent emails appearing to come from a Funding Circle employee were sent to some of our customers requesting that they provide copies of the customer’s tax returns, driver’s license and voided checks,” a note on the Funding Circle US website said.
“The emails we have identified have subject lines that may read ‘completed: Funding Circle loan’ or something similar, and the emails sometimes include a link to click to review and sign a document.
“If you received any loan-related email from us recently, or if you do receive such an email from a fundingcircle.us.com email address, we urge you to not click any links or respond to the email until you have contacted Funding Circle directly to verify that the communication is legitimate.”
